Merchant of Bombay

The illustrious Shenoy Goembab's (Vaman Raghunath Varde Walawalikar, the father of modern Konkani literature) book 'Punyatmo Rama Kamati' (1939) is a milestone work in Konkani language. Late V.N. Kudva has given an account of Rama Kamati in the Annexure 3 of his book 'History of the Dakshinatya Saraswats' (1972).

The late Sri.K.G.Mallya has immortalised the character of Rama Kamati through his novel 'Merchant of Bombay' (1997) This is a historical fiction depicting an unsung hero who was a victim of the early British Raj.
